Issue 5: Containers
The theme of Inscription issue 5 is Containers. The issue features articles from scholars and theorists on various topics: miniature Shakespeare libraries; 18th-century printed diaries; fragments inside medieval musical instruments; file boxes as technologies of empire; a remixed Charles Dickens in-a-box, and empty vessels in conceptual art. There is also specially commissioned writing by Joanna Kavenna, a vinyl LP by Claude Closky, and art editions by Michalis Pichler, Jeremy Deller, Erica Baum, Kiff Bamford, Harold Offeh, Jérémie Bennequin, and Joel Swanson.
